Acclimatization and explorations day in Sama Village.
Today is an altitude acclimatization day, enjoy a refreshing breakfast and then spend the day at Samagaon getting some relaxation. We get familiar with the rich Sherpa culture today. We enjoy the sight of thousands of mani stones with Buddhist manuscripts and portraits and the Sherpa women clad in old-fashioned clothes and ornaments. On a little hill near the Sama village is an old Gompa (Pungyen Gompa), a monastery with great views of the glacier. It is named after Manaslu, Pungyen means bracelet, a good explanation of the two peaks. It was demolished a year after the first unsuccessful Japanese attempt to climb Manaslu.
The locals thought that the ascent angered the gods, and when the Japanese came back a year later, they met with a lot of resistance that they had to give up their try. They were ultimately successful in 1959. Overnight in Samagaon. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Review from tripadvisor
This is my third out of four times in Nepal that I’ve engaged Mountain Hiking and Trekking services. Gokyo (Chola Pass), Everest Basecamp and Imja Tse (Island Peak). The success of all the treks were made possible by the professional service from their awesome trekking and climbing Sherpas and Tandi himself which were all very friendly and we became mates. They really took good care of you not only in Kathmandu but whilst on the mountain region which to me is very important due to the other factors, e.g. AMS etc. Their detailed and flexible arrangements made the trek enjoyable. I highly recommend Tandi from Mountain Hiking and Trekking if you intend to trek in Nepal.
